The Roost Report

Is Coming Soon

The Roost Report is a monthly digital publication for backyard poultry keepers across Nova Scotia. Part newspaper, part noticeboard, part seasonal check-in from the coop. You’ll find stories from local flocks, practical chicken keeping notes, breeder spotlights, upcoming events, and a few other things worth knowing about.

When a new issue is ready, subscribers will get a short email with the highlights delivered to their inbox along with a link to read the whole issue right here.

We’re hoping to launch by the end of summer 2026!

A Roots, Roost & Rafter project.

What’s Inside?

A little bit of everything that matters if you keep chickens.

Each issue has some (or all) of the following depending on the month: an educational article from Feathered Fundamentals, a breed spotlights featuring local Nova Scotia breeders, community events, product deals worth knowing about, reader submitted photos and stories, a seasonal tips section four times a year when the coop routine needs a shake-up, a Q&A section where readers’ questions are answered, and several eligible bachelors looking for flocks courtesy of The Rooster Registry.

Also chicken jokes. Every issue. Non-negotiable.

*If you have a suggestion for something you’d like to see in each issue, I’d love to hear about it!
